.Listen.

That’s what real love amounts to - letting a person be what he really is. Most people love you for who you pretend to be. To keep their love, you keep pretending - performing. You get to love your pretence. It’s true, we’re locked in an image, an act - and the sad thing is, people get so used to their image, they grow attached to their masks. They love their chains. They forget all about who they really are. And if you try to remind them, they hate you for it, they feel like you’re trying to steal their most precious possession.

How strange it is. We have these deep terrible lingering fears about ourselves and the people we love. Yet we walk around, talk to people, eat and drink. We manage to function. The feelings are deep and real. Shouldn’t they paralyze us? How is it we can survive them, at least for a little while? We drive a car, we teach a class. How is it no one sees how deeply afraid we were, last night, this morning? Is it something we all hide from each other, by mutual consent? Or do we share the same secret without knowing it? Wear the same disguise?

ROYALTY ♥: Waging war on sin.

bythestreams:

the issue is not what we struggle with or how MANY sins we struggle with, the issue is whether or not we choose to wage war on our flesh.

The issue is whether or not we choose to resist our sin and wear the full armor of God. I read the verse yesterday that said “You have not yet resisted your…

“Trace Heavens” is a series of gorgeous light installations by James Nizam. To create these images James painstakingly made incisions into the structure of a house to capture and manipulate sunlight into light sculptures.

Loving people unconditionally is a very big challenge. I would be tempted to say it’s impossible, but since God tells us to do it, surely He must have a way for us to do it. Sometimes we pray to be able to love the unlovely and then do our best to avoid every unlovely person God sends our way.

Learning to walk in love with unlovely people and learning to be patient in trials are probably the two most important tools God uses to develop our spiritual maturity. Believe it or not, difficult people in our lives help us. They sharpen and refine us for God’s use.

Marina Abramović - The Artist Is Present: This emotional exhibit, held in the Museum of Modern Art for three months in early spring 2010, featured Abramović sitting in a chair for the entirety of the day at the museum. Visitors were encouraged to sit silently across from the artist for a duration of their choosing, becoming participants in the artwork. Abramović, acting as an “emotional mirror” to the patrons, silently stared at them, often inducing deeply profound and heartbreaking reactions.

the artist didn’t know what was going to happen when she started the project, but when people started sitting down and she looked at them , a lot of people started crying simply because someone was acknowledging them and looking them in the eye.  On the artists website there’s pictures of all the people and how long it took them to cry

My heart is aching

Yet, it’s a weird type of aching because I have hope.

However, I’m concerned for my dad. He’s so sad. I can feel the weight. But I have hope and faith that God will find him and meet him right where he’s at.

So, it’s an interesting mix of emotions.
